Residents of Macomb County May now be Eligible for FEMA Assistance

Monday, October 18th, 2021 FEMA will be opening a Disaster Recovery Center at Eastpointe City Hall located at 23200 Gratiot Ave., Eastpointe, Michigan 48021. Hours of operation are 9:00am to 7:00pm Monday through Saturday (closed Sundays).

This Disaster Recovery Center offers Macomb residents affected by the June 25-26 severe storms and flooding in-person visits to get information about their FEMA application, ask questions about letters they receive from FEMA, and have their documents scanned to be part of their application.

Survivors can visit any center. However, it is not necessary to visit to apply or update applications, which can be done in the following ways:

  • Call 800-621-3362. If you use a relay service, such as video relay service (VRS), captioned telephone service or others, give FEMA the number for that service. The toll-free numbers are open from 7:00 a.m. to 11p.m. ET, seven days a week.
  • Go online to www.DisasterAssistance.gov.
  • Download the FEMA App.

Federal assistance may include grants for temporary lodging and home repairs and other programs to help with uninsured necessary expenses and serious, unmet needs that resulted from the disaster. The deadline to register with FEMA for individual disaster assistance has also been extended to Friday, November 12, 2021.

Please note: The Macomb County Office of Emergency Management & Communications is unable to register residents or verify application status.
