Who can get vaccinated?

The COVID-19 vaccine is currently available to anyone age 5 and older. (Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian)

Booster Dose Eligibility

There are now booster recommendations for individuals who are age 18 and older for all three available COVID-19 vaccines in the United States. Although it is preferable to use the same vaccine for the booster dose that was used for the primary dose(s), eligible individuals may choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose.

For individuals who received a Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine, a booster shot is recommended at 6 months or more after their initial series.

For individuals who got the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, booster shots are also recommended for those who are 18 and older and who were vaccinated two or more months ago.

Additional Dose Eligibility

People with moderately to severely compromised immune systems are especially vulnerable to COVID-19, and may not build the same level of immunity to 2-dose vaccine series compared to people who are not immunocompromised.

CDC recommends that people with moderately to severely compromised immune systems receive an additional dose of mRNA COVID-19 vaccine at least 28 days after a second dose of Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.

Examples include those who have received solid organ transplants, are being treated for cancer or have an active or untreated HIV infection. If you are unsure, please check with your healthcare professional.
